Men’s Self-Care:
GANGNAM STYLE

Men’s health doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, but it plays a big role in overall well-being. I recently visited Gangnam Spa Healing Paradise, located in Cypress and Bear Creek, and found it offers a unique, luxurious way to boost both physical and mental health. One of the best things about Gangnam Spa is its calm, relaxing atmosphere.

Gangnam Spa’s specialty baths and sauna rooms help to detoxify the body and improve circulation, which can have a positive impact on various health issues such as muscle pain and inflammation.

Bul-Ga-Ma

My first stop was the famous infrared room, inspired by traditional Korean hot rooms. These upgraded rooms are the only ones like them in the country. Heated by natural wood fire using modern equipment, they offer a clean, thorough detox at 175°, giving you 10-15 minutes to sweat out toxins. The room also features yellow fomentation stones and now infuses the air with medicinal herbs like Korean mugwort, creating a peaceful space that helps your body detox naturally.

Jjim-Jil-Bang

The spa’s luxurious room is another highlight, featuring jade and heated floors — an industry first. It offers a premium yet traditional Korean spa and sauna experience. This common area lets guests relax before, between, or after their time in the Bul-Ga-Ma or sauna. Everyone who visits the Jjim-Jil-Bang leaves their worries at the door and shares the goal of rest and relaxation.

O2 Lounge

Oxygen is vital for our health, and Gangnam’s O2 Lounge puts it in the spotlight. After sweating out toxins, you can relax in this space filled with 80% oxygen. The focus is on wellness and healing, which is why athletes, doctors, firefighters, and others who rely on their bodies often visit.

Himalayan Salt Room

Himalayan salt contains traces of minerals that are said to be effective in maintaining healthy blood pressure and promoting healthy respiratory conditions; these minerals, such as Calcium, Iron, and Zinc, are also said to help aid digestion and alleviate muscle tension and skin ailments.* The Himalayan Salt Room combines the heat and humidity of a sauna with natural salt-based rocks that are nearly 350 million years old. The hot environment allows the minerals in the salt to be more effectively delivered to the skin and body.

Igloo Ice Room

The invigorating cold temperature of the Igloo Ice Room will create a sense of alertness, while also helping to close pores, smooth skin, and enhance skin elasticity.* The cold temperature may also be therapeutic and help relieve pain by working to release muscle knots.*

Moving between hot saunas and the Ice Room may further help to increase skin elasticity, improve blood circulation, boost the body’s immune system, and create a refreshing sense of simultaneous alertness and relaxation.*

There’s even more to enjoy at Gangnam Spa. The Foot Spa offers a hot bath with water jets that gently massage your feet, helping with circulation and easing tiredness. The Topaz Caves offer a private spot to unwind, designed exclusively for one person. Soon, the spa will also have a renovated movie theater and more treatments to support your health.

The spacious restaurant and dining area offer a wide range of food, snacks, and drinks, ensuring you stay comfortable and satisfied during your visit, whether you’re there for a few hours or the whole day.

Why not treat yourself to Gangnam Spa Healing Paradise and enjoy the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation? And don’t forget to mention that Sir Magazine sent you!
